In the likely event the total contractor Guaranty Fund payouts exceed the $100,000 cap for ALL homeowners that have an actual loss as a result of a home improvement contract with Catalina Pool Builders, LLC, the Fund will be prorated and each homeowner will only receive a portion of their actual loss. The MHIC administers a Guaranty Fund that can reimburse a homeowner for an actual loss due to the failure of a contractor to complete a home improvement contract or against a contractor that may perform unsatisfactory work. Complaint forms and supporting documents must be mailed to our office as we require an original wet signature. The Maryland Home Improvement Commission ("MHIC") has provided the following statement for Catalina customers: "(We) suggest you file an MHIC complaint and have it investigated.
